Annual Theme
2026-2027 Theme
Level Up
Each year, a new SkillsUSA annual membership theme is unveiled to great excitement at the conclusion of our National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC). The theme is designed to inspire the amazing work in our SkillsUSA chapters during the school year as students develop the Personal, Workplace, and Technical Skills of our SkillsUSA Framework.
Not to be confused with our long-standing national slogan/organizational tagline, “SkillsUSA: Champions at Work,” the annual theme is selected each year as a member-centric element.
What Does Level Up Mean?
To “Level Up” is to advance or improve one’s life, skills, or situation. It means moving beyond the basic requirements to achieve a higher standard of skill, responsibility, and leadership. It signifies taking the next step in development, whether that’s mastering a new technique, earning a certification, or taking on a leadership role.
“Level Up” serves as an ambitious call to action. It frames every chapter activity and competition as a deliberate step toward greater professional mastery and career readiness. This theme encourages every member, from the novice student to the seasoned leader, to look beyond simply meeting expectations and instead strive for continuous, measurable advancement.
To “Level Up” is to intentionally apply the principles of the SkillsUSA Framework—improving personal, workplace, and technical skills—to transition from competent to genuinely exceptional. By embracing this mindset, our members secure not just a job, but a trajectory of sustained excellence and responsibility in their chosen career path.
Achieve a new goal.
