Overview
Regional Competitions
This is constantly being revised as competition host information is determined and communicated to the regional coordinators. Students must compete in a Regional Competition to attend the SkillsUSA Washington State Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC).
New this year, students participating in regional events will be charged $5.00 per event, invoices will be sent after registration from QuickBooks.
Please Note: At SLSC, the Interactive Applications and Game Design & Welding Sculpture competitions will be held during leadership competition time. This allows these competitors in these contests to compete in an additional technical competition.
Anyone who has students interested in taking part in a technical competition must notify the regional coordinators by November 15, 2024, to allow enough time to set up a quality event. Without communication before that date, the regional coordinators will not make the contest available for registration.
Due to the short turnaround for SLSC all technical competitions will need to be held before January 31, 2025. Please contact the regional coordinators if you have any questions or comments.
Regarding Regional Competitions, students may participate in more than one competition. A student may compete in a combination of (3) leadership development competitions or occupationally related competitions. Students may participate in as many technical competitions that fit their schedule.
Note: In the event the student qualifies for SLSC in multiple technical contests, they will have to choose (1) technical competition to compete in at state.
Regarding SLSC competitions, individuals may also participate in more than one competition. A student may compete in up to three competitions. (1) technical science competition and a combination of (2) leadership development competitions or occupationally related competitions. If not participating in a technical competition, individuals may participate in a combination of 3 leadership and occupationally related competitions. Students may participate in only one technical competition.
