This month, we’re thrilled to share highlights from our recent Fall Leadership Camp, where students demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. We’re also spotlighting innovative projects from chapters across the state, sharing exciting design competition opportunities, and gearing up for upcoming events. Pin and T-Shirt Design Competitions Now Open!

Calling all designers! The Pacific Northwest Pin Design and State Design competitions are now accepting submissions. These competitions offer a unique opportunity for middle school, high school, and college/postsecondary competitors to showcase their artistic skills and represent their region and state.

Submissions are open from October 15, 2024 – January 31, 2025, with winners announced on February 6, 2025.

Pacific Northwest Pin Design: Create a pin design representing Washington, Oregon, and Idaho for the National Leadership and Skills Conference.
State Design: Design a T-shirt or pin concept for SkillsUSA Washington to be featured at the State Leadership and Skills Conference.

Winning pins will make their way to NLSC, where they’ll be traded among students nationwide—a fun way to show off your design at the national level!

Fall Leadership Camp Recap

Our Fall Leadership Camp was a fantastic weekend of growth, connection, and skill-building for SkillsUSA Washington members! Held at Black Diamond Camp, this year’s camp featured leadership workshops, team-building activities, and invaluable moments for students and advisors to connect and grow.

Congratulations to Our Statesman Award Winners!

This year, eighteen students earned the Washington Statesman Award by demonstrating outstanding SkillsUSA knowledge, leadership, and commitment. We’re thrilled to recognize these students:

Thank You, Rogers High School Students, for the Custom Cornhole Boards

A huge thank you to Rogers High School students Ian Buchanan, Celena Clift, Rally Peña, and Julia Warren for crafting beautiful, custom cornhole boards for us! We were thrilled to bring them out at Fall Leadership Camp to add some fun to the weekend. We can’t wait to continue to use these in the years to come!

Capital High School Students Explore 3D Printing and Dye Sublimation

Students at Capital High School are experimenting with dye sublimation printing on 3D-printed objects. Their recent proof of concept, featured in the photo, demonstrates their innovative approach and technical skills in bringing custom designs to life. This hands-on project highlights the impressive talent and dedication of our students in mastering cutting-edge technology. Keep up the great work, Capital High School!

What’s Next 🚀

Preventative Athletic Taping Competition – Central Region

We’re excited to announce the return of the Preventative Athletic Taping event for the Central Region! This year, we’ll be hosting it on February 1st, from 9 AM to 3 PM at Pioneer Middle School in Wenatchee.

We’d love to see more SkillsUSA Washington middle school Sports Medicine students from across the state participate. If you know any middle school students who might be interested, please encourage them to join us for a hands-on competition experience.
