Competition Details

Competitors demonstrate the ability to perform jobs based on the task list outlined by the National Institute for Automotive Excellence (ASE) and the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). The competition includes a series of workstations to assess skills in areas like surface preparation, spray gun operation, paint mixing, safety precaution implementation and more. The competitor will also complete an interview, a written estimate and an ASE written exam.

Technical Standards

The career competitions of the SkillsUSA Washington Championships follow the current edition of the SkillsUSA Technical Standards. These are available to professional members (advisors and teachers) as a membership benefit following their submission of membership.

Membership Dues

  • Mandatory for student and advisor. Deadline December 20 or before competitions.
  • $ 20.00 Per Student & $ 30.00 Per Adviser. One Time payment Per School Year Membership.
